Seaford College continues to support our kids lunch pack scheme

18th May 2023

Staff and students at Seaford College are supporting our kids lunch pack scheme by providing 400 of the approximately 1100 food parcels we expect to be making this summer.

Chichester District Foodbanks’ supports families who usually rely on free school meals by providing school holiday food parcels. We call these Holiday Kids Lunch Packs, and they contain 10 lunches for each school aged child in a household.

Seaford College is a longstanding supporter of Chichester District Foodbank and assist with a huge number of the kids lunch packs we need during the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays. The provide the food donations, then pack and deliver the parcels to Petworth and Midhurst foodbank centres.

How Seaford College supported us last year

Last financial year, Seaford College donated 12,900 kilos of food making up 900 Kids Lunch Packs in total. These were distributed in Summer 2022, Christmas 2022 and Easter 2023.

Colleen Hayes from Seaford College oversees the ongoing support and fundraising. they raise money from events to buy food, as well as asking for food donations from students, staff and parents. They have organised a wide range of events over the years including fashion shows, clothes sales and coffee mornings.

The school also has an annual community day when the entire school gets involved with local charity projects. This year they hope to help at all four of our foodbank centres. They will take part in a range of projects including, spring cleaning, gardening, packing emergency parcels and stock taking.

From all of us at Chichester District Foodbank, thank you Seaford College for your continued support.
