We’re delighted to have launched a new Walking for Wellbeing group in partnership with Chichester District Council’s Social Prescribers and HeartSmart Walks.
Join us every Thursday at 10am outside Petworth Library for a relaxed and friendly walk, followed by complimentary tea and biscuits. The walk is gentle and welcoming, with no pressure to walk quickly or be especially fit. Everyone is welcome – individuals, families, and even four-legged friends too!
We know that many people who use our food bank are also managing other challenges, such as physical or mental health difficulties, stress, loneliness, or isolation. Having something regular to look forward to, getting outdoors, and spending time with others can make a real difference.
Walking can be a simple and accessible way to support wellbeing. The NHS highlights that regular physical activity can help improve mood, sleep, and energy levels, while also supporting physical health. Just as importantly, walking together can help people build confidence, make connections, and feel more connected to their local community.
We’ve already had some lovely feedback from those who have joined us so far, and we’d be delighted to welcome even more people along.
There’s no need to book, simply come along any Thursday at 10am outside Petworth Library. If you have any questions, please email us at info@chichesterdistrict.foodbank.org.uk or call us on 01243 773687.
