Can you help support Chichester District Foodbank this Harvest?

Harvest is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and support those who may be struggling. This year, Chichester District Foodbank is asking for your help to stock up our food supplies ahead of the winter months.

The run-up to Christmas is always one of our busiest times of year. For people on low incomes, it can also be an incredibly stressful period, with the rising cost of essentials making it difficult to make ends meet.

By donating this Harvest, you can help us make sure local people and families have access to the food and essential items they need during the challenging months ahead. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community around us, and every donation, big or small, is very much appreciated.

How you can help

One of the simplest ways to get involved is by hosting a Harvest food collection at your church, school, workplace or community group. Whether you collect a handful of items or fill an entire box, every contribution helps.

We’re particularly grateful for donations of:

  • Tinned meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, cooking sauces, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, squash, cereal, long-life fruit juice and milk, biscuits and treats, jam and other spreads like peanut butter, instant mashed potato and noodles.]

Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan products are always needed and help us make sure we can support people with a range of dietary needs.

We also welcome donations of essential household and personal care items, including:

  • Baby food, toilet paper, nappies, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash, cleaning products, cat and dog food.

Please remember that all donations must be non-perishable, unopened and in date. Due to Natasha’s Law, we’re unable to accept homemade food or anything without a full ingredients list.

Where can you donate food?

If you’re unable to host a collection, you can still help support the food bank this Harvest (and all year round!) by dropping off food and essentials at one of our many food donation points across Chichester District.

Simply add a few extra items to your shopping and place them in a dedicated donation basket, or drop donations off at participating churches, community centres and other locations.
