On Saturday 28 June, we were lucky to be part of two great community events – Fête in the Park in Petworth and the Chichester Gala. Thanks to the generosity and support of everyone involved, we raised an incredible £1,500: £900 in Petworth and £687 in Chichester.
We’d like to express our sincere thanks to the many local businesses and organisations that generously donated prizes for our tombola.
Prize donors for our Petworth food bank included:
- Allan’s, Amberley Museum, Austens of Petworth, Black Horse Inn, Cherry’s Deli & Bakery, Co-Op Petworth, Corden’s Pharmacy, Cricketers Inn, Deja Vu Hairdressers, FIG of Petworth, Fishers Farm Park, Guilt Lingerie, Hennings Wine, Horseguards Inn, Leconfield Estates, Macklins, Marks and Ayling, Mystique Masala, Oakapple, Petworth Bookshop, Petworth Pharmacy, River Moon Thai Restaurant, Roebuck Estate Vineyard, Sorella, Spriggs Florists, Stonemasons Inn, Stopham Vineyard, Swan Inn, Tallulah Fox, The Badgers, The Old Railway Station, Tiffin Tea Rooms, Wetlands and Wildlife Trust, Arundel.
A big thank you to Sainsbury’s Pulborough for donating over £100 worth of food and essentials directly to the Petworth food bank, and to Petworth Newsagents for their kind food donation. These generous contributions make a real difference to people in Petworth.
We’re also grateful to the Fete in the Park organisers for kindly gifting us our pitch.
The Chichester Gala tombola kept the momentum going from our previous weekend of fundraising at the Cheese and Chilli Festival, featuring a brilliant selection of prizes donated by generous local Chichester businesses including:
- All That Glitters, Chichester Waterstones, Cook, Contract Candles, Ikeara, New Park Cinema, Nuffield Health Chichester, Paradise Adventure Golf at Chichester Golf Club, Stephen Lawrence Menswear, Waterstones, Wild Republic
A heartfelt thank you to our brilliant team of volunteers, who worked tirelessly both before and during the events — organising prizes, setting up, and running our popular tombolas.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work and generosity, we can keep helping local people through tough times – offering emergency food, everyday essentials, and the right support to help tackle the issues that have led them to needing the food bank.
