Our Chichester warehouse has moved to Quarry Lane

17th November 2024

Our warehouse has relocated from John’s Hall in Chichester to a new site at: Unit 10, Chichester Trade Centre, Quarry Lane, Chichester, PO19 8ET.

Our current premises can no longer meet the growing demand for our services, and this move will allow us to better support our community while streamlining our operations.

To avoid disrupting our services during winter, which is our busiest time of year, we will continue holding our food bank sessions at 21 Orchard Street, Chichester until 2025.

Why we’re moving: The demand for emergency food parcels and essentials has tripled since we moved into St. John’s Hall in 2014. Last year, we provided over 6,000 food parcels, with 37% of those going to children. As the cost of living remains high, our services are increasingly needed, reflected in a 3% rise in food vouchers issued in the past six months compared to the same period in 2023. We are currently preparing around 1,000 kids’ lunch packs to ensure that children receiving free school meals don’t go hungry during the Christmas holidays.

How it will make a difference: At the heart of our work are the people we support. Our new, larger premises will allow us to:

  • Store and manage more food and essentials to better meet our community’s needs.
  • Move from a cramped, shared space to a dedicated area, enhancing what we can offer.
  • Run client participation groups and host a wider range of support services in a more comfortable environment.
  • Provide private areas for personalised assistance, allowing us to understand our clients’ needs better.

This change will help us offer tailored support and create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who visits. Bringing everything under one roof will also streamline operations and eliminate the need to transport food between locations.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new warehouse soon when you drop off food donations. We also have many other collection points across Chichester District. Please click here for a full list.
