World Health Day: My health, my right.

7th April 2024

This World Health Day on April 7th, 2024, we’re talking about something super important: “My health, my right.” It’s all about making sure everyone, no matter where they are, can be healthy and get the healthcare they need.

You might not know this, but even though lots of countries say healthcare is a right, not everyone actually gets it. More than half the people in the world don’t have access to all the health services they should. And being healthy isn’t just about seeing a doctor when you’re sick. It means having clean water to drink, fresh air to breathe, enough good food to eat, a safe place to live, and a fair chance at work – without being treated badly for any reason.

Here at Chichester District Foodbank, we see how important all these things are every day. We do more than just give out food. We try to help people get to a better place in their lives by pointing them to other places they can get help from, too.

This year’s theme for World Health Day is asking everyone to make sure people can have these basics. It’s about making sure everyone can live a healthy life, not just the people who can afford it.

We’re all about helping our community to be healthier and happier. And we’d love for you to join us. Whether it’s by giving some of your time, sharing what we do, or donating, you can make a big difference.

This World Health Day, let’s promise to look out for each other and fight for everyone’s right to be healthy. Want to help us out? Click here https://bit.ly/3D01zXZ to see how you can get involved.

Together, we can make things better for everyone.
