Job opportunity: Project Support Manager

Location: Unit 10, Chichester Trade Centre, Quarry Lane, PO19 8ET (office-based)
Salary: £30,229 per year
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (with a rota for working late on Friday)

Are you a highly organised, proactive individual with a heart for community impact? Chichester District Foodbank is looking for a Project Support Manager to lead and coordinate the vital operations that keep our mission running smoothly.


About the role

As Project Support Manager, you’ll sit at the core of our organisation, ensuring our administrative, facilities, IT, events, and stakeholder engagement functions run effectively day to day. You’ll report directly to the CEO and manage our Admin Assistant, playing a key leadership role in supporting both our dedicated staff and volunteers.

This is an exciting and varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients, donors, and stakeholders

  • Managing office facilities and IT systems, ensuring data security and smooth operations

  • Planning and delivering events, and supporting fundraising activities

  • Maintaining compliance and overseeing governance and administrative processes

  • Supporting and coordinating volunteers to deliver impactful community work

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for helping others, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading with purpose.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Experience with IT systems and database management

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Commitment to Chichester District Foodbank’s mission and Christian values

  • Confidence in leading teams and engaging diverse stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Understanding of foodbank operations, food poverty, or related social issues

  • Experience working with governance processes, boards, or trustees
