About

About our food bank

Chichester District Foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of food banks supported by Trussell working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK

We work with frontline professionals to identify people who need emergency food and support. These professionals can give you a voucher which you can exchange for food, other essentials and support at one of our food bank centres across Chichester District.

Our people are the heart of our mission, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate service. Their dedication directly impacts our community by distributing food, managing logistics, and building relationships. Without their skills and commitment, we couldn’t effectively fight hunger or provide essential support to those in need.

Meet our team

Sarah Adams, CEO. Sarah is responsible for the strategic direction of the food bank. By developing community partnerships and supporting her team, Sarah provides the strong leadership we need to provide an effective emergency food and support service through direct referral or signposting, while campaigning to end food poverty in the Chichester District.

Mumba Pappa, Citizens Advice Foodbank Advisor. Mumba offers guidance and support to food bank clients during our Chichester sessions, aiming to reduce their dependence on emergency food assistance. His work centres on income maximisation, including benefits checks, budgeting, debt management, as well as housing and employment support.

Ellen (Els) Martin, Project Support Manager. Els keeps everything running smoothly across administration, IT, events, and facilities. She supports the CEO, manages our Chichester volunteers, and helps ensure the food bank runs efficiently for the community.

Emily Seex, Rural Service Manager. Emily oversees the operation of our Midhurst and Petworth food banks and the virtual signposting team. She works with local project teams to improve our service, raise donations and increase awareness of available support from the foodbank.

Marie Wallace, Warehouse Supervisor. Marie manages our warehouse and operational logistics in Chichester. She works closely with the community and local businesses to raise support, food and funds for the foodbank.

Keely Storey, Participation Manager. Keely partners with local organisations to run groups that support our food bank customers and tackle the root causes of why they need our services. She also works closely with clients and the community to campaign for change and ensure everyone has access to life’s essentials.

Emilia Barnden, Admin Support Officer. Emilia provides administrative support to the whole food bank team to support our food bank projects. She also provides support with media, communications and community engagement.

Our volunteers

Our large team of volunteers help us provide vital services to our community, and get involved in many aspects of our day-to-day operations. From sorting items at our warehouse and delivering emergency food parcels to guiding clients to support services and helping fundraise at events, our work is only possible through their dedication.
