Fundraising
Fundraising events are a fantastic way to contribute, raise awareness and bring people together for a great cause. Whether you're an individual, a part of a community group, or a local business, your efforts can help us continue our vital work.
Why fundraise for us?
Every pound you raise helps support people in crisis across our local community. Your fundraising enables us to provide emergency food and practical support, while also helping address the root causes of poverty. Together, we can make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.
How to get started with fundraising
Setting up a fundraising event is easy and rewarding. Here’s how to begin:
1. Choose your fundraising event
Pick something you enjoy and that suits your community. Popular ideas include:
-
Bake sale
Everyone loves homemade treats. Organise a bake sale at your workplace, school or in your local community. -
Charity sports event
Host a football match, golf day, sponsored run or walk. Ask participants to pay an entry fee or raise sponsorship. -
Quiz night
Hold a quiz at a local pub, village hall or workplace. Charge for entry and add a raffle to boost your fundraising. Contact us if you’d like our ‘Beans on Toast & Brainpower’ food-themed quiz questions. -
Skydive challenge
Take fundraising to new heights with a sponsored skydive. Available to book at 18 airfields across the UK with various days and times to choose from, all year round. With just 30 minutes of training, you will jump securely attached to a fully qualified British Parachute Association (BPA) instructor, jumping from 13,000 feet, reaching speeds of 120mph!-
Registration fee: £70 (payable to Skyline on booking)
-
Minimum fundraising target: £395–£450 (depending on airfield)
-
Not sure what will work best? We’re always happy to help you shape your idea.
2. Set up your JustGiving page
Visit JustGiving to create your fundraising page. It’s quick and easy, and you can personalise it with photos, videos and details about your event. Donations go directly to Chichester District Foodbank, and your supporters can Gift Aid their donations to increase your impact.
3. Spread the word
Promote your event using social media, email, posters and community noticeboards. The more people you reach, the more successful your fundraiser will be.
If you’d like support with marketing materials, please contact Emily at [email protected].
4. Host your event
Enjoy bringing people together for a great cause. Take photos, share your success stories and tag us on social media. If you’d like a member of our team to attend or support your event, just let us know.
