Midhurst food bank relocates to new premises thanks to generous support from Cowdray Estate

14th January 2025

Chichester District Foodbank has moved its Midhurst food bank centre to a new location in the heart of the community.

Since 2017 we have been fortunate to operate rent-free from a property in Market Square provided by Cowdray Estate. This generous gesture began as a short-term arrangement but has extended far longer than anticipated, for which we are deeply grateful. Now, in a testament to their continued support, Cowdray has kindly offered an alternative location that better meets our operational needs, enabling us to continue serving our community effectively.

The new premises are located in the centre of Midhurst. The site is safe and secure, offering convenient ground floor access, ample room for our stock and close proximity to public parking.

“This move represents a new chapter for our Midhurst food bank centre, and we are incredibly thankful to Cowdray for their continued generosity and support,” said Sarah Adams, CEO. “The new location is well-suited to our needs and will enable us to continue providing vital services to the community.”

In 2023/24 alone, we fed and supported 827 people in the Midhurst area, with almost one-third of these being children, demonstrating the ongoing need for our services in the local community.

We would like to thank Cowdray once again for their ongoing support, as well as our dedicated volunteers and Panther Truck Rental for their help in making the move smooth and efficient. Their efforts have ensured we can continue operating seamlessly and serving the community without interruption.
