Celebrating the success of Midhurst Munchies

4th June 2024

We are delighted to share the success of our recent Midhurst Munchies event. The turnout was fantastic, and the feedback from our community has been incredibly positive. It’s clear that there is a significant demand for such community gatherings in Midhurst.

From the moment the event began, the energy and enthusiasm were truly heart-warming. Families, friends, and individuals from across the community came together to enjoy delicious food, fun activities, and great company. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with smiles and laughter.

We’ve received numerous messages of appreciation and positive feedback about Midhurst Munchies. Attendees loved the variety of food options, the engaging activities for all ages, and the opportunity to connect with others in the community. Here are a few highlights:

“It is such an AMAZING idea. My son is not the best eater so this was an eye opener for more choices.”

“What a brilliant set up – a little something for lots of children. Please come back again!”

“We loved it! Well organised and interactive. Made some lovely ‘Munchies’.”

“We really enjoyed today. It was lovely to see some healthy food ideas to buy at home.”

We also took the opportunity to ask attendees about their experiences living in Midhurst on a low income. Here are some of the responses we received:

“It feels easier and cheaper to buy unhealthy food. Fruit and veg prices are very high in the local shops.”

“We are in Chi. It is considered to be affluent but I think more people struggle than they admit.”

“Buying fruit and veg, we have to go further afield to buy fruit and veg.”

These insights highlight the ongoing challenges faced by many in our community and reinforce the importance of events like Midhurst Munchies that promote healthy eating and provide support.

If you, like our attendees, find it difficult to buy healthy fruit and vegetables, Olio could be a great way for you to access free fresh food that otherwise would be wasted. Simply sign up and see where you can collect food in your community that has been donated from brands like Tesco, Pret-a-Manger, Waitrose, and many more.

Another charity to contact is UK Harvest, where you can bring a bag and a suggested donation of £5. To find your nearest UK Harvest Community Hub, click here.

Given the success of Midhurst Munchies, we are pleased to announce our next event, which will take place in Chichester on 21 August. We are planning more delicious food, engaging activities, and opportunities for community connection. More details about the event will follow soon, so stay tuned.

For those seeking additional support, we encourage you to join us at our Stand Stronger Together event. This event provides resources and assistance for individuals and families facing financial challenges. More details can be found here.

We hope to continue bringing these positive experiences to our community. Your support and participation are what make these events so special. If you have any suggestions or ideas for future events, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you once again to everyone who attended Midhurst Munchies and made it such a memorable day. We look forward to seeing you at our next event in Chichester!
