Chichester District Foodbank needs your vote to give kids a stronger start

5th November 2025

Chichester District Foodbank is in the running for Tesco’s Stronger Starts grant, and we need your vote! This fund can give local projects up to £1,500, helping children and families in the community.

Kids Lunch Packs – making school holidays easier

When school meals stop during holidays, the Foodbank steps in with Kids Lunch Packs. Each pack covers 10 lunches per child and includes essential pantry items, reaching around one in three children on free school meals in the district.

“Every bit of support makes a real difference for families who need it most,” says CEO Sarah Adams. “If you shop at Tesco in Chichester, we’d be so grateful if you could vote for us – every blue token counts!”

How to vote

Drop your blue token in the box for Chichester District Foodbank when you shop at:

  • Tesco Extra, Fishbourne

  • Tesco Express, East Wittering

  • Tesco Express, South Street

Voting runs runs until mid-January 2026.

Why it matters

Tesco Stronger Starts (previously Bags of Help) has already given over ÂŁ123 million to 69,000+ UK projects. The fund helps children stay fed, active, and focused, supporting their health, wellbeing, and learning.

“Children with enough food have more energy, better concentration, and achieve more,” says Tesco’s Claire de Silva.
