Urgent call for donations: Help us support our community

At Chichester District Foodbank, we are facing unprecedented times. The cost of living crisis is having a significant impact on our community, and we are giving out more food than we are receiving in donations. This situation is unsustainable, and we urgently need your help to continue providing essential support to those in need.

In July, our stock levels tell a worrying story:

• Stock in: 8680.4 kg
• Stock out: 8842.05 kg

Approximately 8,000 kg represents just one month’s supplies of food and toiletries.

This means that we are distributing more food than we are receiving, creating a deficit that threatens our ability to support the growing number of people in crisis.

These are incredibly tough times for many families and individuals in our community. The rising cost of living is pushing more people into food insecurity, and the demand for our services has never been higher. Each week, we see more and more people relying on our foodbank to provide the essentials they need to survive.

How you can help

We urgently need donations to replenish our stocks and continue our vital work. Here’s how you can help:

• Donate food: Non-perishable items such as tinned vegetables, UHT milk, rice, pasta, and toiletries are always needed. You can drop off donations at our collection 
• points or directly at our warehouse.
• Donate funds: Financial contributions allow us to purchase the items we are most in need of. Even a small donation can make a big difference.
• Host a collection: Organise a food collection at your school, church, workplace, or local community group. Every bit helps and brings us closer to meeting the needs of those we serve.
• Spread the word: Share our call for donations with your friends, family, and colleagues. The more people who know about our situation, the more support we can gather.
