At Chichester District Foodbank, we believe in empowering our community in every way possible. A crucial aspect of this empowerment is ensuring everyone has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
Did you know that approximately 9 million people in the UK are not registered to vote? This includes key groups such as renters, young people, ethnic minorities, those born overseas, and individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Your vote matters
Your vote is your voice, and every voice matters. If you are already registered, please make sure to vote in the upcoming elections.
Received a poll card?
If you have registered, you will have been sent a poll card telling you where and when to vote. If you haven’t received a poll card but think you should, contact your local Electoral Registration Office.
Lost your poll card?
Don’t worry, you can still vote if you’ve lost your card. When you get to the polling station, give your name and address to the staff inside. You’ll need to show your photo ID to confirm your identity in some elections and referendums. You’ll be given a ballot paper containing a list of the people, parties, or options you can vote for.
Filling in your ballot paper
Follow the instructions on the notices in the polling booth and on the top of the ballot paper to cast your vote.
Voting with a disability
If you have a disability, your local Electoral Registration Office can provide information about:
- Physical access, such as wheelchair ramps and disabled parking spaces
- Low-level polling booths
- Any specific equipment you might need
Make your voice heard and vote in the election tomorrow, 4 July 2024.
